Pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood can bring so much change to everything from your identity, relationships, body, routines, emotions, and sense of self.
Our free monthly support group offers a welcoming place to learn, reflect, ask questions, and feel less alone in whatever this season is bringing up for you.
You don’t need a referral, or to be in a crisis, or to even know exactly what you want to talk about before you arrive. Sometimes you need information. Sometimes you need practical tools. And sometimes you simply need to be with other moms who can say, “Me too.”
Welcome everyone and review a few guidelines for keeping the space supportive and respectful
We might invite you to share but you can always say no! You are welcome to participate, ask a question out loud or in the chat, or simply listen. Cameras are encouraged because they help create a sense of connection and safety within the group.
Offer an optional brief check-in
Introduce the month’s theme and share helpful information or gentle practices
Make room for questions, reflection, and connection
Each 60-minute online group is facilitated by one of the perinatal therapists on our team, Keli Bellaire. Keli will:

Each month explores a different part of maternal mental health and the adjustment to motherhood.

You aren’t sure whether counselling is right for you, but you would appreciate some support
It is a place to learn, reflect, connect, and receive general emotional support.
It is not group therapy, a substitute for individual mental health care, or a crisis service. Keli cannot assess, diagnose, or provide individualized treatment during the group.
If you need more personalized support, our team of perinatal mental health therapists offers virtual counselling across Canada. Find a Therapist
If you are in crisis or concerned about your immediate safety, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency department, or contact an appropriate crisis service in your area.
To help protect everyone’s privacy, please join from a space where other adults cannot overhear the conversation. We also ask all participants to respect the privacy of what others share. As with any online group, however, we cannot guarantee that other participants will maintain confidentiality.
There is no commitment to attend every session or explanation needed if you miss a month.
We’ll send you the date, time, monthly theme, and online meeting link.

Cameras are encouraged because seeing one another helps the group feel more connected and secure. We also understand that life with children is unpredictable, so please come as you are.
Absolutely. Feeding, rocking, walking around, stepping away, and being interrupted are all welcome here.
No. This is a therapist-led support and educational group, not psychotherapy or individualized mental health treatment.
We ask everyone to join from a private space and not share anything they hear outside the group. Because this is an online group with other community members, The Perinatal Collective cannot guarantee that every participant will maintain confidentiality.
Join the email list and we’ll send you the upcoming date, time, theme, and link. Meeting times may vary so that more moms have opportunities to attend.
You don’t need to prepare anything, have the right words, or be having an especially hard month. Bring your coffee, your baby, your questions, or just yourself. However you arrive is enough.
