The Abundant Therapist Mastermind

For therapists who want steadiness at work and more energy for life outside of it.

Abundance is steadiness in your practice and energy for life outside of work. It’s about building a practice that supports you as a whole person, not just as a therapist.

Build a private therapy practice that works with your life.

We’ve designed The Abundant Therapist Mastermind for perinatal and family‑based therapists who want a practice that’s profitable, fulfilling, and fits into their life without constantly overworking or sacrificing.

We’re Kate and Melissa, perinatal therapists, educators, practice owners, and moms, and we’ve created a space for clinicians who care deeply about their work, and also want to show up for themselves and their families in a way that leaves them feeling proud and fulfilled.

Your practice can support your clients and leave room for you.

Inside the Mastermind, we focus on clear strategy, relational growth, and decision‑making that complements this season of your life so

APPLY FOR THE MASTERMIND

How to build a private practice that actually works inside real mom-life.

You’re supporting parents and families through some of the most tender seasons of their lives, and you’re doing it while holding caregiving, parenting, or family planning in your own life, too.

And let’s be real, grad school didn’t teach us a thing about running a business, let alone how to do it inside real life. No one prepared us for back‑to‑back clients all day and then walking straight into a toddler meltdown with zero emotional bandwidth left. Or the financial stress that comes with schedule gaps, cancellations, and the inevitable “your kid is sick, please come pick them up” call that throws the whole week off.

We see it constantly, and we’ve lived it.

That low‑grade overwhelm of feeling like you should be doing more to grow your practice, while having no clarity on what’s actually worth your time.

The noise. The guessing. The sense that everyone else has a system you somehow missed. When your practice feels unsteady, it affects everything. Especially when your time and capacity are already limited.

Most of us were trained to be good clinicians, not to build private practices that work inside real parent‑life. So we built this Mastermind to fill that gap.

Most of us were never taught...

But with clear strategy, relational ways of building referrals, and decision‑making frameworks that respect your nervous system.

this wasn't built with hustle tactics or generic business advice.

Because the goal isn’t just a full caseload, is it? It’s about having enough energy left at the end of the day so you still have the capacity to show up for life outside work, not just collapse and recover.

I'M READY TO APPLY

who this mastermind is for:

For therapists who want steadiness, clarity, and room to breathe.

If you work closely with parents and families and want to build a private practice that actually feels livable.

If you want practical guidance, honest conversations, and support from people who are actually doing this work, while raising kids, managing real lives, and protecting their energy, this is for you.

You already have a practice, or you in the early stages of imagining one, but it doesn’t feel steady yet.

The caseload isn’t always consistent, the business decisions feel heavier than they should, and you’re not always sure where your energy is best spent.

You’re a parent, caregiver, or someone who’s thinking ahead about how your work needs to support your life (not take it over).

You want a clear way forward that respects your capacity and still moves the needle.

You want your practice to be financially solid and values‑aligned. You’re not interested in hustle, optimization culture, or doing more just to prove something.

We built our practices while seeing clients, raising families, and navigating real‑life constraints, and we’re still in it. Today, we run a national perinatal group practice with over 18 therapists. Kate is writing a book on mothers and anxiety and has built a community of over 60k people by talking honestly about mental health and motherhood. Melissa is a former adjunct professor with the University of British Columbia’s School of Social Work and also works as a full-spectrum doula, grounding her teaching and clinical work in lived, relational perinatal care.

Everything we teach comes from lived experience, what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what we wish we’d had earlier. We care deeply about ethics, burnout prevention, nervous‑system‑aware decision‑making, and building practices that can last through different seasons of life.

The Abundant Therapist Mastermind is designed specifically for therapist-parents and caregiver-clinicians who want a sustainable, values-aligned practice rather than hustle, constant visibility, or unrealistic productivity expectations.

Most therapist business programs assume you have unlimited time, energy, and flexibility.

Inside the Mastermind

Each week you’ll receive short audio lessons, practical workbook exercises, and occasional Loom walkthroughs for the more technical topics. You’ll review the material in advance, then join us for a 90-minute group coaching call where we apply the ideas directly to your practice.

The Curriculum: How We’ll Reshape Your Practice Over 8 Weeks

We begin by aligning your practice with the real season of life you’re in, rather than the one therapist culture tells you to keep up with. You'll learn to:

  • Identify the life season you’re actually in and the constraints that come with it
  • Understand the difference between burnout, grief, and misalignment in private practice
  • Release outdated definitions of success around productivity, income, and caseload size
  • Set capacity-aware goals that respect your time, energy, and emotional labour
  • Clarify your values, priorities, and brand stance moving forward

By the end of the week, you’ll have a grounded understanding of what success looks like for you right now.

  • Define the purpose your social media serves in your practice
  • Set ethical and personal boundaries around what you share online
  • Reduce comparison and nervous-system activation through intentional consumption

We’ll also explore templates, systems, and AI tools that make content creation easier.

  • Avoid common website mistakes that quietly prevent inquiries
  • Understand the basics of SEO and local search visibility
  • Learn how AI search tools are changing how people find providers

By the end of the week, you’ll know how to make your practice discoverable online in ways that work quietly in the background.

Being Found Online — SEO, Websites + AI Search

WEEK five:

WEEK five

Once your organic foundation is clear, paid ads can help the right people find your work more consistently. You’ll learn how to:

• Understand when Meta ads (Instagram + Facebook) actually make sense for a therapy practice
 • Set up simple ad campaigns step-by-step to promote services
 • Write clear, ethical ad messaging that resonates with potential clients
 • Choose audience targeting without overcomplicating the process
 • Track the key metrics that show whether an ad is working
 • Analyze results and decide when to adjust, scale, or stop a campaign

You’ll leave this week understanding how to create, run, and evaluate ads confidently.

Running Ads for Your Private Practice

• Design a weekly rhythm that protects your energy and clinical capacity
 • Build simple communication and workflow systems for your practice
 • Use tools like Jane, project management platforms, and scheduling systems effectively
 • Reduce cognitive load through clear operational processes
 • Create systems that allow your practice to run without constant decision-making

Systems + Operations That Support Your Life

WEEK seven:

WEEK seven

In the final week, we focus on designing a practice that can actually sustain you long-term. You’ll learn how to:

The Challenges We See (and Lived Ourselves)

It’s because building a private practice, especially in perinatal/family work, can be weirdly personal, surprisingly lonely, and way more confusing than anyone warned you.

If you’re feeling stuck, it’s probably not because you’re “bad at business” or not trying hard enough.

And underneath all of that is the bigger thing: you’re carrying everything alone.

Your schedule is inconsistent, so planning your life feels impossible.

It usually looks like:

When you’re also parenting, caregiving, or just holding a lot outside of work, the margin gets so thin. You’re trying to be present for clients and at home, while running a business that needs decisions and energy you don’t always have.

It’s really easy to decide the problem is you and that you’re not business-savvy or organized enough. But the truth is, you just haven’t been given the right support and strategy to step into the practice that you’ve been hoping for. That’s the gap this Mastermind is here to support.

you’re doing a ton of “practice-building” stuff that doesn’t bring IN clIEnts

boundaries feel loaded (time off, saying no, cancellations… all of it)

visibility feels awkward, or like you have to perform

you’re constantly wondering if you’re charging “right” or doing “enough”

Frequently Asked Questions

HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE mastermind?

This is for perinatal and family‑based therapists who already have a practice and want it to feel steadier and more fulfilling. You’re seeing some clients, but you’re looking for more structure and support around the business side (without hustle or burnout).

No, but this space is very much built with parenting, caregiving, and real‑life capacity in mind. If you’re thinking about how your practice needs to support your life (now or in the future), you’ll likely feel aligned with how we approach this work.

We cap the Mastermind at 20 people. That’s intentional because we want this to feel connecting and supportive, not like you’re getting lost in a crowd or waiting for your turn to be seen.

This is for any therapist who isn’t feeling like their practice is as full as they’d like, or they’re struggling to find balance in business and life overall. If you’re new to therapy practice, this will give you a great foundation moving forward. For those already in private practice, this is an opportunity to refine your business and create a strategy for long-term success.

It’s very practical. We focus on sustainable and effective marketing, referral sources, long-term strategy, business measurement and tracking, expanding your income streams, building your systems to take pressure off you and reduce overwhelm, etc. No generic business advice, no performative marketing, and no pressure to do more than your capacity allows.

Yes. We focus on building consistent, sustainable referrals and retention (that feel like YOU) so your practice feels steadier over time and not just busier for a moment.

This is designed to fit into a busy parent’s life (we’re right there with you!). We give you access to the video lessons in advance so you can learn on your own time between calls, and then we’ll meet weekly(ish) for 90 mins. The audio lessons will be about 60 mins each week, and all exercises can be done in windows that work for you.

Both! But heavy on the interactive. You can learn a lot on your own, but we’ll also be in conversation through our group chats throughout the week, and the video calls. You’re encouraged to ask specific questions and share what’s actually happening in your practice so we can tailor our support for you.

Yes. We expect a large number of applications, and we want to make sure that everyone joining is a great fit. We will be accepting successful applicants on first come basis.

Yes. Accepted participants will have the option to add a private 1:1 coaching session if they want more individualized support. This is completely optional and can be added any time.
